TOMY was founded as a manufacturer of laboratory centrifuges and autoclaves.

Fukushima factory is constructed. Spun off as an independent company and established TOMY KOGYO CO., LTD.

High Speed Refrigerated Centrifuge RS-20II:
First model as digital indicator and G setting

1982

Micro Refrigerated Centrifuge MR-15A:
First refrigerated model for micro centrifuge. The first floor-standing type with a refrigerator in Japan. It eliminated the need for centrifugation work in a low-temperature room and was very popular. This epoch-making product established the reputation of TOMY as a micro centrifuge.

1986

Mini Personal Centrifuge
HF-120:
First model in Japan

1987

High Speed Refrigerated Micro Centrifuge MRX-150:
First micro high speed refrigerated centrifuge to use an inverter, based on the MR-15A, and achieves a maximum speed of 15,000 rpm and a maximum centrifugal g-force of 19,500 G without a brush.

1988

Established TOMY TECH U.S.A., INC. as a U.S. subsidiary.

Autoclave SS-325:
A long-selling big hit product.
Accurate and easy digital operation by microprocessor control. Equipped with no water heating prevention device (utility model) that constantly monitors the amount of water in the chamber.

High Speed Refrigerated Tabletop Micro Centrifuge MTX-150:
Big hit U.S. model. Tabletop refrigerated micro centrifuge based on the MRX-150.

1992

Autoclave ES-315:
First autoclave equipped with an automatic air release time setting function in Japan. It enables more reliable sterilization according to the materials to be sterilized.

1998

Flex-spin Refrigerated Centrifuge LX-120 / 130 / 140:
A revolutionary flap drive system (patented) is used to ensure safe centrifugal processing even when dispensing samples by eye.

2000

The International Division is spun off and established as TOMY DIGITAL BIOLOGY CO., LTD.

2001

High Speed Refrigerated Micro Centrifuge MX-300 and Rack-in-Rotor TMA-300:
TOMY’s original “Rack-in-Rotor” system, which combines a super lightweight rotor with a resin rack. This revolutionary rotor system is the ultimate in micro high-speed refrigerated centrifuges.

2003

Multiple Shared Use Autoclave
SX-700 / 500 / 300:
First top-opening autoclave with a foot pedal unlocking system in Japan. Allows the lid to be operated up and down with one hand and one foot.

2008

ISO9001 certified (TOMY KOGYO CO., LTD.)

2016

Mini Personal Centrifuge Wonder Spin Series, One Spin & Multi Spin:
First small micro centrifuge designed specifically for spin-down, which enables centrifugation in a single tube (One Spin).

2017

High-throughput Autoclave
FLS-1000:
laboratory autoclave with a 100-liter capacity, the largest of all TOMY autoclaves. Developed as a user-friendly product with a wide and low table top design, a flexible left / right installable specification to avoid steam, and various notification functions.

2018

High Speed Refrigerated Micro Centrifuge MDX-310:
First micro centrifuge in Japan to feature a color LCD touch panel. Equipped with functions to solve problems by considering the user’s perspective

2021

New factory building opened (TOMY KOGYO CO., LTD.)
